When Will You Be Ready?
I see some of you are starting to get cabin fever and are restless. Sheltering in place has been difficult for most people, but for travelers used to spreading their wings, the past few months have felt like being in a straitjacket. We know the confinement is for our own good, but can you loosen the sleeves just a bit? This is what I am hearing from some of you. You are asking me where can you travel in the next few months just to getaway. You’re not looking to go to Timbuktu or Tasmania, just somewhere warm and relaxing.
If you are feeling the itch to travel internationally, like I am, I recommend going to the Caribbean. Currently, there are several islands that are open to US Citizens – Aruba, Antigua, Barbados, Bermuda, Jamaica and others. Each island has its own set of COVID-19 protocols that visitors must follow to enter and stay in the country. These may include completing pre-departure documents and having a negative COVID-19 test prior to travel and upon entry to the country. For those of you who are ready, there are places where you can travel now. Of course, you will need to continue to follow the same practices you do at home such as wearing a mask, washing your hands, and social distancing. There is no place that is completely safe, however, there are some safer places that you can choose. I can help you with this process. Just let me know when you are ready.
Now, for when the coast is clear and we can take those exotic trips.
We are constantly striving to improve our processes at Overton Travel. The newest improvement is that we have implemented a Trip Planning Request process. The link is on the website and in this e-mail. If you are interested in planning a private trip for a few friends or a large group, click on the link to review the process and submit your request. This is really good for those of you who can only travel during specific dates or want to plan a trip for a special event such as a birthday, anniversary, or family reunion.
